Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Yorkshire for the vacancy of HART Team Leader.

As a HART Team Leader you will play a central role in safeguarding the public during the most challenging and complex incidents in our region. From major emergencies and mass-casualty events to hazardous environments and specialist rescue scenarios, you will guide and inspire a highly skilled team of HART Operatives and Specialist Paramedics--ensuring they are ready, capable, and confident every single day.

This is a role for someone who leads from the front: clinically strong, operationally confident, and committed to delivering excellence in the most extreme circumstances. You'll be responsible for operational readiness, staff welfare, strategic deployment, and maintaining national standards set by ECU.

You'll act as the driving force behind your team--supporting development, assuring competency, shaping service improvements, and representing the unit locally and nationally. Main duties of the job

The Main duties of the HART Team Leader:

  • Lead, manage and support HART operatives to maintain high clinical and operational standards
  • Coordinate HART deployment at incidents, ensuring staff safety, effective response, and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Maintain team readiness through competency management, training oversight, audits and compliance with ECU and EPRR standards.
  • Communicate complex information, deliver briefings, and lead/participate in debriefs to support organisational learning.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, documentation, governance activities and adherence to Trust policies.
  • Manage resources including vehicles, equipment, information systems and financial responsibilities such as timesheets and procurement.
  • Conduct investigations, audits and service improvement work to ensure quality and safety.
  • Support safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Act as deputy for the HART & Special Operations Area Manager when required and support wider A&E operations.
