Associate Director of Paramedicine

Are you an experienced clinical leader passionate about advancing paramedic practice and driving high-quality, safe and continuously improving patient care? We are seeking a senior leader to take on a pivotal role at the heart of our organisation's clinical leadership.

As Associate Director of Paramedicine, you will shape and deliver the Trust's strategy for paramedic clinical practice, champion learning and improvement, and ensure strong governance and accountability across all areas of quality, safety and clinical effectiveness. Working closely with the Executive Director of Quality/Chief Paramedic, you will influence Trust-wide development and act as a visible clinical leader across Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

Leading the development of future paramedic practice across specialist and advanced domains, ensuring evidence-based, forward-thinking clinical models.

Designing and implementing large-scale programmes of work that improve clinical practice and strengthen patient outcomes across the Trust and wider system.

Supporting and developing frontline clinical staff by fostering a culture of learning, professional growth and high-quality patient care.

Setting the vision for the Consultant Paramedic/Practitioner team and strengthening clinical leadership throughout the organisation.

Engaging with partners, regulators, commissioners and patient groups to ensure collaborative, inclusive, patient-centred development of paramedic practice.

Providing expert leadership for clinical guidelines, best-practice evidence and implementation of national standards.

Analysing and interpreting complex clinical quality and safety information to identify risks, influence strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.

Acting as a senior representative for the Trust, including responding to serious incidents, complaints and Coroner's Court proceedings where required.
