Job summary

The post holder will be required to perform a wide range of dutiesassociated to the provision of Supply Chain Logistics and MaterialsManagement within the Trust, providing a safe and effective service.

Post holders will provide a high standard of service delivery in relation tothe supply of consumables, gases, medicines, uniform, confidential patient records, and other items under the management of the Procurement Department.

Primary duties will be compliance with all relevant SOPs, controls and standards, both national and Trust specific.The Post holder will be required to work with minimum supervision, flexibly across a large geographical area and use initiative in problem solving.

Main duties of the job

Ensure adequate supply of consumables and materials at stations, adjusting stocklists as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of YAS stores, carrying out stock takes, audits, and reporting findings. Handle, move and store materials safely across the Yorkshire region, often driving Trust vehicles with minimal supervision.

Manage stock control, rotation, delivery and ordering through electronic systems, ensuring items with less than 2 months' shelf life are identified. Analyse data on stock levels, orders, deliveries, losses and returns.

Deliver and collect materials in planned or emergency situations. Maintain stock levels for allocated items (including scheduled drugs for some roles), ensuring essential supplies never run out.

Check deliveries accurately, comply with mandatory training, and maintain a development portfolio. Report equipment faults and health and safety issues promptly.

Take responsibility for stock in the post holder's vehicle and stations, using systems such as the NHS Supply Chain PDA to order stock as an authorised signatory.
