Internal Applicants:You can choose to work 100% as an EOC Senior Clinical Advisor, or opt for a rotational role, spending 5 weeks in your operational role and 5 weeks in EOC. Your preference will be requested during the application process.Please note - This vacancy is only for Wakefield & York callcentres. Remote Hub vacancies will be advertised separatelywhen available.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Clinical Advisor is responsible for the assessment of health and clinical needs, utilising professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software.

This requires generalist and specialist skills as a telehealth professional to assess and deliver care to patients.

Applicants should have experience in emergency care, assessment of high acuity symptoms, a broad knowledge of conditions and an understanding of red flag symptoms and consequence.

As a Senior Clinical Advisor, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work with a variety of clinical specialists to ensure safe clinical processes for patients
  • The ability to make quick safe clinical decisions under pressure and the ability to assess and identify red flag symptoms and conditions
  • Undertake referrals to internal and external clinicians

You will provide a medical assessment, medication advice, health information and implement care packages to a range of individuals, liaising with other agencies and healthcare providers, as necessary.
