Job summary
Working within the clinical informatics and audit (CIA) team, the mental health analyst will link closely with the mental health programme team and be responsible for the timely and accurate provision of mental health related intelligence attained via analysis of clinical data.The role will include utilisation of several data systems as well as extensive use of numerous software types to aid in analysis such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, SQL & Power BI.This role serves as a key contact for the management and provision of mental health-related data and intelligence within YAS, focusing on data quality and rigorous statistical analysis.The post-holder will collaborate closely with clinical audit, informatics, and business intelligence teams to ensure accurate, well-presented data that informs clinical decisions.This includes producing regular reports and overseeing complex data investigations to support YAS's mental health program and align with broader medical directorate goals.Additionally, the role supports the advancement of data projects and the YAS electronic patient record (ePR) system by working with IT and other teams to streamline data services and enhance record-keeping accuracy. By representing the mental health program in Trust meetings and maintaining a matrix-style collaboration across departments, the post-holder helps drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in mental health services.
Main duties of the job
- Develop working relationships with colleagues within the Trust and other organisations that are productive in terms of supporting and delivering your work and that of the overall organisation.
- Communication with key stakeholders including senior colleagues to report data findings periodically to determine impact on service provision and support key decisions in changes to service provision.
- Discuss requirements with stakeholders (managers, staff etc) in order to develop ways that the service could be improved.
- Adopt a polite, professional and respectful manner at all times.
- Providing a contact for the day-to-day provision of YAS mental health related data and intelligence.
- Representing the mental health programme at Trust meetings and progressing the requirements of the medical Directorate.
- Working closely with other teams, including IT colleagues, to support the delivery of day-to-day data services as well as support development of the YAS electronic patient record (ePR).
- Provide advice and technical support to the relevant stakeholders in the use orprocurement of new data systems.
- Communicate effectively with managers and staff at all levels.
