Payroll Assistant

Job summary

We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.

We are looking for people who can:

Prepare, calculate and administer the provision of a highly efficient and effective payroll service for Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust and to provide payroll services to North East Ambulance Service.

Have an in-depth working knowledge and experience of the ESR system, or other Payroll / Finance software , AFC Pay Terms and Conditions and HMRC statutory regulations.

Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

o To pay, calculate and administer payroll. Complete all variations to pay anddetails for staff, ensure balances are correct and ensure accuracy ofpayments made.

o To have full knowledge of all terms and conditions for payroll. E.g., AFC,HMRC statutory regulations and RTI

o To be fully conversant with Payroll or Finance systems for both accessing and processing data in respect of payroll.

o To be able to produce manual calculations for tax, NI and pensions to raise correct manual advances or make adjustments.

o To provide initial point of contact with staff and to answer general queries in relation to payroll issues, which are commensurate with the responsibility and level of the post, seeking advice as required.
