Job summary

We have 2 exciting opportunities for Academy Administrators within Yorkshire Ambulance Service Academy to work closely with the Academy's Education team.

The first post is located at YAS Academy, Burn Hall, Tollerton Road, Huby, York, YO61 1JB and is full time office based, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm.

The second post is located at YAS Academy, Elmbank, Stanley Road, Wakefield, WF1 4LH and is full time office based, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

YAS Academy delivers and supports the education and development activities to approx. 5,000 staff and 1,300 volunteers across the four different YAS Academy training sites.

To enable us to meet the future needs for our services we are seeking a passionate and inspirational colleagues who have the relevant experience and capabilities to deliver outstanding performance, and who are able to contribute to the development requirements of the department and the organisation as a whole.

YAS Academy provides educational and learning programmes, both clinical and non-clinical, that cover the needs and training requirements of the whole of the staffing teams.

The Academy is spread across four main sites across the Yorkshire region, York, Leeds, Wakefield and Doncaster and has a team of approx. 95 staff.

Main duties of the job

The Academy Administrator will act as first point of contact for a range of education and learningactivities. The post holder will undertake all administrative processes relating to the delivery of a professional, customer focused Education and Learning service for the Trust.

They will support the production of timely and accurate workforce/performance information.

Liaise with key stakeholders in order to deliver the key requirements and objectives.

Communicate with key departments to ensure a streamlined and professional approach.

The Academy Administrator will also be responsible for maintaining stock levels and the procuring of consumables and equipment as necessary.

The post holder must be an effective communicator an be able to receive and send information effectively to the correct department. Assist in the production of presentation material, learning packs and course programmes, making adjustments to plans where required.

It is important that the successful candidate can work independently and also be part of a very busy team, as well as be able to apply critical thinking skills and generate ideas and solutions whilst adhering to the agreed processes and standards of delivery to ensure that the department meets the required targets.

  • Provide a customer focused and supportive administration service to the YAS Academy
  • Update Education and Learning systems for changes in employee details, training records, course bookings

  • Responsible for uniform ordering/monitoring for new starters/students whilst in education
  • Maintain the accurate and effective filing systems
