Job summary

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust are looking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead and be responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient technical service which meets the demands of the Trust and operates within Trust guidelines and budgetary restraints to drive forward the delivery of services, maximising both value for money and service strategies.

This is a senior role within the organisation and the post holder will ensure effective implementation and management of policies and procedures in relation to Medical Devices including HR/Staff Management, Capital Planning, Health & Safety and Risk Management ensuring compliance with device standards.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Associate Director of Estates, Fleet and Facilities, the post holder is accountable for the direct delivery of Clinical Technical Services. They shall provide a modern Electro Bio-Medical Engineering (EBME) and Lifting and Handling Equipment with a clinical technical support service to the Trust, complying with statutory regulations, Care Quality Commission, Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) - Managing Medical Devices, National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) bulletins and current best practice making sure the service is showing continuous improvements in management strategies and service delivery.

The Medical Devices service is primarily concerned with providing repair, calibration and servicing of a wide range of highly complex medical, diagnostic and lifting and handling equipment throughout Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. The clinical equipment covered by the Medical Devices Department incorporates components of electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer software and medical gases.
