Red Kite View is a purpose-built young people's mental health hospital, providing inpatient care and support to families and young people from across West Yorkshire. Red Kite View provides a spacious, therapeutic environment where we support young people experiencing significant psychiatric, psychological or emotional problems that are causing them difficulties with their interpersonal, educational and social functioning.
The service is staffed by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team including nurses, psychiatrists, teachers, clinical psychologists and a wide range of allied health professionals and non-clinical support staff. You will receive weekly clinical supervision from a qualified clinical psychologist.
You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality psychological assessment, formulation and intervention within the service. This will include supporting the implementation of PBS and AMBIT, the clinical models for the wards. Key parts of the role also include audit, evaluation and research, group and individual interventions, implementation and analysis of outcomes data, and project work.

Main duties of the job
You must have a degree eligible to hold Graduate Basis Chartered Membership (GMC) with the BPS to be offered this post. To maintain anonymity at shortlisting, proof of this will be requested as necessary after application and before interview. You will work under the supervision of a qualified psychologist as part of a multidisciplinary team. Core responsibilities in the job include direct work with young people and their families, supporting psychological assessment and interventions including development of Positive Behaviour Support Plans. You will lead on supporting young people and parents to complete outcome measures and set meaningful goals for admission. You will use your skills in audit, evaluation and research to enable the team to create meaningful, person centred care plans and to support the service to identify good practice and areas for improvement. You will take part in research and service development projects, teaching and project work.
