Main duties of the job

We are looking for compassionate and experienced Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will support people with learning disabilities in a supported living environment, helping to develop independence and achieve their personal goals. We support people with complex learning disabilities and additional health and behavioural needs. Experience of PBS and or postural management is desirable.

Your duties will include:o Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.o Supporting individuals in accessing community activities and services.o Following support plans and promoting independence.o Supporting people with healthcare interventions and positive behaviour support plans.o Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with team members, families, and other professionals.o Encouraging social interaction and helping people build relationships.o Providing emotional support and companionship.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. Successful candidates will have completed the Health and Social Care Level 2 NVQ/diploma or have equivalent experience. Well ensure you get the correct training and qualifications.This post requires shift work as we provide support over a 24/7 basis. You must be able to work a variety of shifts including nightshifts, weekends, and public holidays.All applicants will hold a L2 or Level 3 Diploma / NVQ in healthcare, or possess skills, knowledge, and experience to an equivalent level. Where the applicant does not possess the actual qualification, the Trust requires all applicants to commit to beginning this (or a Level 3 qualification) within 6 months of commencing in post unless extenuating circumstances exist.
