Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with relevant experience to provide service user-centred occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation at Red Kite View, as well as leading the occupational therapy team.

Please note this role is open to internal applicants working for LYPFT.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide client-centred Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation for patients referred to an adolescent inpatient provision.
  • To line manage the Red Kite View Occupational Therapy team.
  • To develop and deliver a high quality of Occupational therapy to the Service Users within a specialised Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Service
  • To develop and provide, where possible, evidence based assessment and delivery of care, using relevant Occupational Therapy models and approaches
  • To utilize the Occupational Therapy approach to help minimize the potential disruption to function experienced during hospital admission and to contribute to discharge and recovery plans.
  • To offer participation in meaningful occupation to this group of service users and demonstrate the outcome.
  • To take the lead on the planning, provision and evaluation of a comprehensive therapeutic group and activity programme on the unit.
  • To maintain clear and active links with your profession's structures and your profession's lead within the Trust. Support the profession's development and modernisation and the adherence to your profession's standards and codes of practice.
  • To contribute to the multidisciplinary risk assessment processes.
  • To participate in and lead, where required, service development initiatives for the unit
