Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Mill Lodge Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service and Willow View Intensive Day Service in York. Mill Lodge is a Tier 4 General Adolescent Unit for children and young people aged 13-18 years old presenting with complexity including mental health difficulties, exploitation, eating difficulties and systemic difficulties. Willow View is our Intensive Day Service for children and young people presenting with complexity and for whom we are avoiding an admission. We are a new, developing and dynamic psychology and psychological therapies team that are passionate about inclusion, social inequality, justice, co-production and innovation. The service takes a trauma-informed, attachment and systemic approach to understanding the presentations and needs of young people and their families. Our work is underpinned and informed by a range of evidence based psychological models, including Adaptive Mentalisation Based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT), systemic/family therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). A key part of the provision is co-producing psychological formulations which inform a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to treatment.

Main duties of the job
The Assistant Psychologist will be supported to deliver psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist to both young people and their families/carers. They will participate in the evaluation of young people's care and treatment at Mill Lodge and willow view and assist in clinically related administration, audits, research, evaluation and collection of outcome measures. They will also work independently according to a plan agreed with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
