Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner to join our innovative and highly regarded Offender Personality Disorder Service (OPDS). We work in partnership (Probation, NHS, and third sector services) within a large multi-disciplinary team to enhance the criminal justice management of high-risk offenders.

This full-time post will be a split across two local Approved Premises (AP) which have PIPE (Psychologically Informed Planned Environment) status; Holbeck House PIPE AP, Leeds and Southview PIPE AP, York. These are both APs for high-risk offenders on licence, all staff have training and clinical supervision. A formulation led approach is used to support the residents to develop prosocial relationships, promote, and instil autonomy, engage in reflection about themselves and others and to learn new ways to manage their internal responses to their lived experience in less harmful or violent ways.

Main duties of the job

To provide psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, qualified Forensic Psychologist or qualified Psychotherapist.

To participate in evaluation of the Offender Personality Disorder Service.

To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

To work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified Clinical Psychologist, Forensic Psychologist or Psychotherapist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. The post holder will be expected to work in partnership with criminal justice, probation, prison and NHS colleagues.

The majority of the meetings/duties are held face to face some online however, you may need to be flexible in attending meetings across a variety of venues appropriate to the demands of the job.
