Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced leader to join our Procurement Team as Deputy Head of Procurement and Logistics. The Procurement and Logistics team plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care whilst ensuring value for money is achieved for both the Trust and Leeds Community Healthcare.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills to assist the Head of Procurement in managing, developing and motivating the procurement and logistics staff and to contribute to the continuous improvement of the service and its influence across the organisations.
They will play a pivotal role in contributing to the development and achievement of the Trusts Procurement strategic plan, continuous improvement of the service and workplan.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will deputise for the Head of Procurement on both procurement and logistics issues and lead on key projects.The Deputy Head of Procurement will ensure that the service is sensitive, responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the Trust balanced against the need to remain cost effective, the main task being to provide a strong and effective professional management focus leading to the achievement of agreed targets, efficiencies and added value initiatives.They will promote the benefits of effective procurement by influencing managers and clinicians to embrace the innovative alternatives to contribute towards the overall strategic aim of improving quality of care, whilst providing strong leadership and management of the Procurement and logistics teams to ensure that all Procurement and Logistics activity is effectively delivered in accordance with Trust policy and key partner buying organisations, for example, the Integrated Care System, NHS Supplychain, North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative.
They will be able to communicate detailed and complex information using high levels of tact, diplomacy, persuasive and interpersonal skills including when required presentations to all levels of audience
