We are looking to recruit a Band 4 Nursing Associate who is compassionate, creative, and flexible in their approach to delivering individualised, person-centred care. The successful applicant will work within and instil a culture of therapeutic optimism and hope in line with the principle of recovery, and will have a good working knowledge of person-centred care-planning and risk assessment/management. They will demonstrate excellent organisational skills and a commitment to working collaboratively with others. You will value continuing professional development and actively engage in clinical and management supervision.
Ward 5, located at the Newsam Centre in Leeds, is a 17 bedded Level 2 rehabilitation service that delivers rehabilitation and recovery to male service users with enduring mental illness. The service provides a holistic, psychologically informed approach to support Service Users in developing their life skills, independence and hope for the future in a way that is meaningful to them, in the least restrictive way possible, with a focus on individual strengths.
From August 2025 Ward 5 will relocate to Parkside Lodge, Armley, a redeveloped and purpose-built stand-alone rehabilitation unit.

Main duties of the job
If successful, you will be encouraged and supported to develop your own specialist skills, knowledge and competence through participation, reflection, supervision, and training, with a strong focus on service improvement and individual professional development. The service is currently undergoing exciting development and transformation, and we would particularly welcome applications from those who hold additional skills in recovery-focused psychological interventions, or who wish to acquire and develop these skills.
