Job summary

This is a full time SD post working on ward 5 Becklin Centre, a 21 bedded female acute ward, available currently due to a vacancy having arisen as a result of the post holder moving to another region. This post is on a busy acute ward where the SD is considered an essential and integral part of the MDT. Most admissions are for psychosis and severe mood disorders. Personality disorders are also common. Many women are detained and so MHA work is an important and necessary part of the role. The SD will attend the daily handover (PIPA report out) meeting, attend and support ward reviews as required, complete MHA related tasks and will work under the supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist and alongside the Multi Professional AC - the ward being supported by a fully staffed MDT and two Approved Clinicians (Consultant Psychiatrist and MPAC).
