Job summary

Are you passionate about homelessness and health inclusion? We are looking for a HCPC registered (or equivalent) Psychologist/ Psychotherapist to contribute to our highly respected Specialist Therapeutic Outreach Team (STOT). STOT support people experiencing homelessness and multiple complex needs (including difficulties with substances).

Working for LYPFT within Forward Leeds, a CQC-rated Outstanding service and one of the biggest substance abuse services in the country, you will support some of the most marginalised people in our community in rebuilding a sense of control and empowerment in their lives. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively in order to engage with people who struggle to access our mainstream services due to their social, economic and psychological circumstances.

Main duties of the job

You will contribute to our trauma-informed service, ensuring that psychological perspectives are central to everyone's thinking. You will support the empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people we support. Through direct and indirect clinical work, consultancy, clinical supervision, reflective practice, team formulation, training and collaborative working, you will support the team to deliver an innovative and effective service that adheres to best practice guidelines and the delivery of high-quality care.

As part of the street team, you will work alongside other professionals and agencies in order to consider the multiple needs of the people we serve. You will also play a role in the continued development of the service.

You will be supported and managed by a well-established COMHAD (co-occurring mental health and alcohol and drug) team, which includes a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and a Principal Clinical Psychologist. We are also passionate about health inclusion, and there will be high quality provision of supervision and training opportunities.
