Job summary

The Estates & Facilities Department are looking to appoint a forward thinking, positive, and competent Hard FM Services Manager (Estates Manager) to assist the Trust in delivering excellent Hard FM services across the estate. The Trust works with both internal and external partners so we are also looking for an individual who can demonstrate the Trusts Values whilst ensuring relationships are maximised across the portfolio and ensuring positive relationships internally. Given the diverse portfolio of the NHS Estate, the Hard FM Services Manager must demonstrate strong abilities in relationships, compliance, governance, quality and communication and must work in a pro-active manner in relation to health and safety.

This is an important role within the directorate and will equally be expected to support partners within directorate such as the Sustainability, Fire, Security and Health & Safety Team.

Main duties of the job

  • The postholder will be responsible for delivering projects and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders such as Finance, Estates & Facilities, PFI Partners, NHSPS Partners, Clinical Teams, Operational Teams. In addition, the post holder will

  • Be responsible for the health and safety of the maintenance team and all contractors that are working on the Estate

  • Ensure that both the planned and reactive maintenance regimes are fit for purpose and demonstrate value for money as well as being effective from a quality perspective.

  • Posses an ability to be able to contract manage, manage contractors and develop specification for the Trust to realize both cost and quality expectations.
  • Provide a pivotal role in the implementation of the CAFM system and it's ongoing upkeep and the utilisation of all other electronic systems where applicable
  • To track and monitor in-house revenue and contract budget expenditures.
  • To write technical specifications of required works and prepare quotation and tender documentation in order that sub-contractors and in-house maintenance teams can present competitive costings.
  • Support the Head of Operations and be a key stakeholder in the NHS ERIC / PAM submissions
  • Manage compliance as per the requirement of HTM00 and act as an Authorised Person where relevant.
  • To identify and area's of non-compliance in relation to the estate and contribute to the Trusts backlog maintenance strategy
