Job summary

Psychiatrist to join the Low Secure Service based at the Newsam Centre, Leeds. The successful candidate will join two other full time substantive Consultants who are in post. Although a Forensically trained psychiatrist is preferred, a candidate with general adult training would be considered. The post is to help run the male mental illness pathway.

Main duties of the job

We have an excellent record in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education and Training, evidenced by medical student, core and higher trainee placement feedback in Health Education England annual reports. We have a highly successful University of Leeds Core Psychiatry Training Course for trainees in psychiatry. The Trust is also delighted to have nominated both successful Health Education England Yorkshire School of Psychiatry Core and Higher Trainees of the Year 2018 and the Trust's Director of Medical Education was runner up for the Royal College of Psychiatrists Trainer of the Year 2018. There is a weekly Wednesday afternoon teaching programme (currently on zoom) to which all doctors are invited.
