Your career with the Acute Inpatients Service could start here.

Our Acute Inpatients Service consists of 4 wards at the Becklin Centre and 2 wards at the Newsam Centre which provide care for people with complex acute mental health needs.

We want to know all about you, your core values, if you have lived experience of mental health, any caring responsibilities, your skills and experience so we can find the perfect role for you at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

This post requires shift work as we provide support over a 24/7 basis. You must be able to work a variety of shifts including night shifts, weekends and public holidays. We will however consider a variety of flexible working arrangements to enable staff to balance their work and home lives and support staff.

You will be supported in your personal and professional development via manager supervision, training and other Continuing Professional Development opportunities. You will have an induction to the Trust and your team and the opportunity to complete the care certificate if necessary.

As a Healthcare Support worker, you will be expected to work with patients, carers and Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide care to people with mental health needs.

The successful candidates will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing high quality care and treatment of clients within the inpatient service based on female wards within Becklin Centre Centre. We are looking for individuals who are;

  • Passionate about working with service users with complex mental health disorders.
  • Resilient, compassionate and dedicated to providing a high level of care.
  • Patient focused and driven to helping encourage recovery of our patients.
  • Positive and enthusiastic in your approach, calm and confident when dealing with the needs of the service users.
  • Excellent communication skills

You will be able to demonstrate genuine interest in mental health and be committed to involving service users in all aspects of their care. The role requires candidates to support the care, assessments, interventions and activities for service users.

We are committed to improving service provision and actively engage all staff in developing services. The successful candidates will be encouraged to develop creative ideas that support service users and the service as a whole.
