An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic, committed, hard-working and flexible practitioner to join our Practice Learning & Development Team as a Clinical Educator.
The post holder will provide knowledge, advice and information relating to training and supporting Health Support Workers (HSW) throughout the Trust, whilst ensuring quality learning experience is available in clinical practice. The post holder will work with minimal supervision and support the development and embedding of the Care Certificate framework and the Trusts Clinical Inductions for HSW.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Trust. They will be able to work autonomously, effectively taking responsibility for their own work. Having teaching/coaching and presentation skills would be an asset to the role. The post holder can expect to receive ongoing support from Practice Learning and Development team colleagues whilst in the role and access to regular reflective time and supervision. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed prior to appointment. Whilst the team have a base of St Marys House, the Practice Learning and Development Team, work in a hybrid way, with a combination of home working and attending LYPFT trust based sites, placements.
The candidate should have a professional qualification and current NMC registration, a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience and be a practice assessor who has self-declared on PARE.

Pastoral support for HSW, apprentice HSW
Facilitation of HSW learner forums and support clinics
Ensuring HSW have access to quality, practice-based learning and are achieving the learning required for Care Certificate and Career Development.
- Provide knowledge to stakeholders on practice learning issues for HSW.
- Prepare and present information, reports, and presentations to a variety of audiences including patient groups, clinical staff, service managers and the Practice Learning and Development Team to support the delivery of improvement initiatives. Audiences may range from small groups of one interest group to large mixed groups at conferences or similar events.
- Manage complex and occasionally sensitive situations using persuasion, negotiation and influencing skills to overcome barriers and resistance to change.
- Represent the PLD Team at appropriate Trust meetings.
- Collaborate with other members of the PLD team, clinical teams to ensure that the provision of education and training is clear and robust.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to support the work programmes of the care services.
- Liaise with outside agencies in the development of suitable education and training opportunities for staff.
- Support the PLD team manager working in partnership with service managers and professional leads to secure clinical engagement for identified projects.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of 1.1 sessions with HSW.
- The post holder will report directly to the PLD Lead/Team Manager and be accountable to the Deputy Director of AHP, Social Workers and Clinical Workforce Development.
