Job summary

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust currently provides mental health and learning disability services, as well as a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services.

Main duties of the job

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Trust's successful Finance team in the role of Head of Income & reporting. The post holder will have a wide-ranging portfolio that spans costing, patient income and internal and external reporting. Responsibilities include the completion of statutory Finance submissions, maintaining and developing Service Line Reporting in the Trust and overseeing financial benchmarking exercises. The post holder will also provide strategic financial and business planning advice and support in the development of the Trust financial plan.

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and engaging individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate to a wide range of audiences. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to interrogate data and appropriately and robustly challenge assumptions in place. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a team player with a collaborative and flexible working style with the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines in a challenging environment.

We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country.   • Significant experience working with and influencing senior managers within a large complex organisation; understanding of the NHS and specifically foundation trust finance regime; experience of a wide spectrum of finance functions; involvement in business case production; working with other organisations; systems and processes and costing regimes.

  • Be able to explain and present highly complex financial processes and information to non-finance staff, in a way that is easy to understand. Delivered by means of meetings and formal presentations.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate and influence at a senior level
  • The post holder will be able to provide advice and interpret information that may be sensitive, highly complex, contentious and conflicting making recommendations wherever appropriate.
