Job summary

An exciting 12 month secondment opportunity has arisen for an experienced mental health professional to be part of a small team who will work collaboratively with colleagues delivering on a programme of reassessments using strengths based approaches, where people are already in receipt of commissioned services. Working with several local and regional partner organisations within an Adult Social Care team, this will be a rare opportunity to broaden your interagency experience. We would welcome applications from a range of mental health professionals, including mental health nurses, occupational therapists and social workers.

Main duties of the job

Working within the Reassessment Team, you will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing Section 117 packages of care (and other funding streams). Visiting placements, you'll undertake planned reviews and provide placement advice to other case holders at the time of discharge. You'll develop effective links with NHS and Social Care Providers, working with service users and service providers to establish the correct level of intervention and support.

  • Recognised professional qualification e.g. BSc/Dip OT, RMN, RN (Mental Health), BSc/degree.

Experience

  • Post qualification experience, with expert knowledge of practice within the field of supported accommodation environments, challenging behaviour or adult mental health services.

  • In-depth understanding of treatment models, the Mental Health Act including Section 117 legislation and the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
