Job summary
We are looking to recruit to a Fixed Term Consultant Psychologist/ psychotherapist role to cover the current post holder's maternity leave within our Forensic Psycholological Therapies Team. We would also accept applications from individuals looking for a development opportunity at 8b who could take on reduced aspects of the role.
The successful candidate will provide management and leadership across the psychology team within our site in York. The service takes a trauma-informed biopsychosocial approach to understanding service user's presentations and risks, formulating behaviours as driven by unmet needs, and informing a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to treatment with a focus on recovery. There is also a forensic outreach and liaison service that the successful applicant may input to, supporting transitions from the inpatient service to the community.
You will be responsible for leading and managing the team of psychological therapists based on our York site. You will also be a senior clinical leader using your psychological knowledge to help shape the design and delivery of the service. You will represent the service and contribute towards the provider collaborative in developing the regional partnership. In addition, you will carry a clinical caseload and work collaboratively within the MDT to support our service users through their recovery pathway. You will work closely with our other Consultant Psychologist who leads the team based at our site in Leeds.
Main duties of the job
To work jointly with colleagues, stakeholders all relevant agencies to provide a comprehensive approach to the psychology service leadership, management and governance. Alongside the wider forensic service planning and delivery.

- You will assist in the risk assessment/management and care planning for service users collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders such as families and carers, probation, MoJ, social workers and MAPPA.
