We are seeking an enthusiastic, independent, pro-active and innovative Senior Information Analyst with excellent communication skills and experience in the development of BI content to join our Performance and Business Intelligence team. The team provides a BI and performance reporting service to clinical and management teams within the Trust, as well as providing performance data to commissioners and other external bodies.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will be experienced in engaging with a range of colleagues and partners to understand their requirements and will be able to develop the use of BI tools to meet these. You will be a skilled communicator and will be confident in participating in a range of meetings, answering queries, and advising in your role as an information specialist. You will be able to recognise gaps in information and support provision and will be proactive in following up on these.
We use Cognos Analytics to produce and deliver performance and management information. You will be working to improve our users' experience of Cognos, with particular focus on support of the organisation's performance framework. Extensive experience in the production and presentation of accurate management information within a BI tool is a key requirement of the role.

You will be able to understand complex data structures, problem solve, support junior colleagues, communicate effectively and manage a portfolio of projects with varying timescales and priorities.
We can offer a supportive team and a range of challenging tasks within a complex mental health and learning disability trust that provides a wide variety of services across Leeds and York. In return, you will be helping colleagues to deliver the best possible care to our patients.

This includes data preparation and modelling for business use in conjunction with our Technical Development team, as well as development of reports and dashboards to be accessed by our customers.
Keep abreast of any new developments in Cognos/BI Reporting and develop the Trusts use of the tools capabilities to improve the accessibility and distribution of information across the Trust. Design and implement efficient processes for the production of complex information for the Trust and external Stakeholders.
Provide and receive highly complex and sensitive information when communicating on a one-to-one basis or in a range of meetings, including large meetings of senior staff and clinicians. Promote the use of the Business Intelligence toolset to services in accessing relevant information and support their understanding of their performance and management information.
Key aspects of the Senior Information Analyst role are:
- Actively promote and support the development and delivery of high-quality performance and management information to Trust Executives, Clinicians, Senior Managers and external staff to promote achievement of Trust strategies and improvements in care.
- Promote new methods/techniques to improve the accessibility of information Trust wide.
- Ensure that through excellent communication, reporting requirements are clearly understood and agreed.
- Evaluate, develop and implement business intelligence content within agreed timescales to ensure effective decision-making. This includes data preparation and modelling for business use in conjunction with our Technical Development team, as well as development of reports, dashboards etc. to be accessed by our customers.
- Provide specialist training and support when implementing business intelligence tools and promotion of good practice in the use of business intelligence Trust wide.
- Provide regular support and training to Trust Staff and be responsible for the supervision of junior information analysts.
