The CT scanning department currently has 3 CT scanners, increasing to 4 at the beginning of April 2026 with the extension of our CDC site. We operate over 2 sites, Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Walton Community Hospital and CDC, providing a wide range of scans including Trauma and ED, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Vascular, CTCs, Cardiacs and some interventional procedures. We are currently in the middle of a replacement project that will see 2 new CT scanners at Chesterfield over the next 12 months, along with a third at Walton.
Radiographers work 12hour shifts, which include weekends and nights.
Being part of the Chesterfield Royal Hospital Team brings with it the opportunity to contribute to the training of student Radiographers on their clinical placement.
Main duties of the job
oProduce high quality diagnostic scans, while maintaining Local and National DLRs and following radiation guidelines
oEfficient and effective running of the CT lists, ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to, providing a safe and efficient environment for the patient
oParticipate in the CT departments QA and Audit programme
o Work at both CRH and CDC sites and participate in a full rota which includes weekend and night shifts
o Participate in the supervision of student Radiographers and training of rotational and junior radiographers
o Maintaining good working relationships with all Departments
o Be proactive and keen to fulfil the responsibilities of the Band 6 role as in the Job Description.
