Job summary

DSFS has a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Estates professional to lead our Estates Services at Chesterfield RoyalHospital.

Reporting to our Director of Operations, this role will be the organisations professional lead and Board advisor for Estates services and compliance, bringing an innovative approach to the development of service and site strategies.

Main duties of the job

To lead, manage and develop the Estates Service, to ensure that all services meet statutory, NHS targets and requirements and offer quality andvalue for money as required by DSFS and Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Undertake the role of Estates professional advisor to DSFS Board advising and reporting on key Estates strategic and compliance issues.

To develop an estates strategy that is aligned with and enables the delivery of the Trusts clinical services strategy.

To lead estates compliance services. Working closely with senior DSFS and Trust leaders to ensure these services meet national standards,patient expectations and are aligned with the trusts clinical strategy and aims.

Deputise for the Operations Director as required both within the Trust and at external forums.

To develop and promote the development and wellbeing of all our people.

Support the organisations transformation agenda and take the lead on transformation projects where appropriate.

  • Building/Engineering Degree or BTEC Higher Level Diploma/Certificate or qualification equivalent to degree level.

  • To be a member of a professional organisation.
  • Master's qualification in relevant subject

  • NEBOSH National Diploma
  • Chartered membership of a professional body

Experience

  • Significant post qualification experience and track record of Managing Hard FM assets and services within a complex health environment.
  • Effective communication, presentational and reporting skills.
  • Highly developed technical / knowledge and appreciation of FM services including statutory legislation and DH mandatory and good practice guidance.
  • Preparing of reports to support assurance/governance of operational services
  • Authorised Persons Experience
  • Previous proven operational management experience in the NHS or similar environment involving a wide range of procedures and practice.
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of effective financial management.
  • Experience of working with NHS / other service delivery targets
