Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our growing team at Royal Primary Care, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist/Administrator to work within in our busy medical practice within the Chesterfield area.
We are looking to employ a receptionist/administrator to join our busy GP practice based in the Chesterfield area.
- 1 x 18.5 hours per week
Main duties of the job

Ensure the reception area is manned and welcoming at all times.

Process personal and telephone requests for appointments, home visits, and telephone consultations, directing callers to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Complete all reception and administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner, process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.

Take and relay messages promptly, ensuring effective communication between patients and clinical staff.

Process repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.

Enter and manage patient data accurately on the computer system (SystmOne).

Respond to enquiries from patients, colleagues, and external healthcare providers.

Clear and re-stock consulting rooms as required.

Provide general clerical support, including word processing, filing, photocopying, diary management, and scanning.

Monitor and maintain office and clinical stationery supplies.

Handle clinical waste appropriately, ensuring it is taken to designated areas.

Keep the reception area, noticeboards, and leaflet displays tidy and well-organised.

Undertake note sorting, scanning, and administrative duties relating to patient records and Practice documentation.
Essential:
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Experience working with the public, ideally in a reception or customer service environment.
Understanding of basic office procedures.
