Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Locum fulltime General Consultant Radiologist who will also specialise in delivery of our service for cross-sectional and Neuro imaging.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are competent in delivering a wide range of services across all modalities, including relevant interventional procedures, as well as achieving high reporting standards in a range of imaging examinations in both general and relevant subspecialty investigations.
You will be required to share the general reporting workload with other colleagues in addition to neuro and Hed and Neck imaging, which will complement the skill mix of the existing consultant team.

Main duties of the job
- Participate the general workload of the department which includes contribution to the duty radiologist rota, vetting of requests and in-patient CT and MRI reporting.
- Provision of support for the Neuro imaging related workload including plain film reporting, x-ray meetings. Head & Neck US and biopsies would be advantageous.
- Support the cross-sectional Imaging workload of the department by undertaking cancer target CT and MRI as well as routine cross-sectional imaging.
- Support tumour site specific cancer MDT meetings as deemed appropriate, based on service specific requirements.
- Teaching and training of radiology registrars, reporting radiographers and medical students.
- Attendance at departmental discrepancy and educational / audit meetings.

Essential
- MBBS / MBBCh and possess FRCR.
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practice
- Eligibility to reside and work in the UK.
- Neuro imaging sub-specialist training
Desirable
- Special interest or additional qualifications in other areas of clinical radiology
- Higher degree
- Eligible for entry on Register and within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
Experience
Essential
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining a UK CCT in general radiology.
- Oncology CT reporting
- Experience of audit management
- Basic Interventional Radiology skills including US guided biopsies & drainages
- Experience of supervising radiology trainees
Desirable
- 5 years supervised training in an appropriate ST equivalent training programme
- Fellowship in Neuro imaging
- Fluoroscopy body Interventional skills E.g. nephrostomies
