The DSFS Director of Operations (Estates and Facilities) will help develop, deliver, and drive our daily operations, putting people and patients at the heart of everything we do.You will provide strategic leadership and management to your five direct reports which span the role's portfolio including hard and soft facilities management, health and safety, operational support services and capital projects, estates management, guest services and compliance.As a key member of the DSFS Board, you will work across the Group, system and wider region, driving forward the leadership, management, and continuous improvement by role modelling the DSFS Values through collaboration and compassionate leadership. Main duties of the job
Accountable for the leadership, direction and performance for areas of the business within the portfolio, providing assurance through internal governance and controls and setting challenging objectives in line with the strategic objectives and business plan.
Ensure high quality, customer focused service delivery. Lead the DSFS response to operational issues and critical incidents within the portfolio including Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) in collaboration with the Trust's Emergency Preparedness Response (EPRR) team.
Ensure services are compliant with relevant statutory and mandatory standards and that risks are appropriately identified, mitigated, escalated as appropriate. Accountable for the Health and Safety provision and compliance for both DSFS and customers on site and remotely where necessary.
Responsible for the provision and maintenance of the hospital and other sites, including car parking, ensuring a safe and effective working environment including leadership of the estate utilisation plan to maximise space optimisation.
Liaise with colleagues on stand-alone projects and support associated bids and business plans.
