Job summary

We are currently looking to appoint a Booking Co-ordinator in the Child Health Care Unit within the Family Care Division.

The successful candidate must be customer focused, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Working full time Monday - Friday (specific working hours will be agreed with the successful candidate).

Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure are essential requirements together with great attention to detail for ensuring data is recorded accurately on the patient administration systems.

To be successful in this role you will possess excellent interpersonal and IT skills, GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English and have relevant office/secretarial experience. You must have effective communication skills and be adaptable to meet the service needs.

Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are also desirable.

Main duties of the job

The main emphasis of this role is to provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective appointment booking service in order to meet the Trust's patient waiting times target. Along with providing excellent customer service to all service users.

Duties will include managing all patients waiting for an appointment on the Outpatient Waiting List including capacity to enable patients being seen in chronological order, constructing and scheduling clinic lists as per department guidelines, collecting missing demographic details from referrals, and taking part in all tasks within the Clinic Co-ordination Team as needed.
