Specialist Children's Physiotherapist

Job summary

We are looking to recruit a specialist Children's Physiotherapist on a fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave.

As the selection process will involve a practical element you will be required to attend a face-to-face interview.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support children, young people and their families by assessing their needs and devising appropriate interventions.

You will be responsible for managing your own varied caseload and work autonomously across a variety of settings which may include special and mainstream schools, hospital and community clinics and patient's homes.

You will assist with hydrotherapy and CPIP's clinics and support audit and patient feedback projects.

The role demands excellent team working, time keeping and communication skills.

This post would be ideal for a Physiotherapist with relevant experience who wishes to further develop specialist paediatric skills.

We have excellent links and working arrangements with other teams in Specialist Children's Services and with Education and Social Care teams. You will work as part of a supportive and friendly team based at The Den, our purpose-built centre for children's services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

As a skilled and valued member of our team you will additionally educate and mentor other less experienced physiotherapists, healthcare professionals and physiotherapy students.

  • Recognised vocational diploma/degree in physiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • HCPC Registration
  • At least 2 years postgraduate experience in a broad range of specialties

Desirable

  • Relevant post-qualification training

  • Evidence of post graduate work with children with neurodevelopmental difficulties
  • Evidence of prioritisation within a designated caseload

  • Experience of working in a community setting
  • Experience of working in the NHS
