Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Services Division for a relief receptionist working 21.5 hours per week Monday to Friday working various hours depending on where you are covering between 0700 - 1800 hours. You shall be provide with your rota roughly 1 month in advance but may change slightly dependant on service need so you would need to be adaptable.
The successful candidate must be customer focused, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure are essential requirements together with great attention to detail for ensuring data is recorded accurately onto the patient administration system to manage the booking of designated follow up clinics after discharge.
To be successful in this role you will possess excellent interpersonal and IT skills and previous busy reception experience You must have effective communication skills and be adaptable to meet the service needs.
Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are also desirable.

Main duties of the job
The main emphasis of this role is to provide a comprehensive reception service to the ward, whilst working in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties will include front of house, face to face receptionist service to all patients and visitors, maintaining patient notes and the Open ward / Medway system, filing, and producing documents to a high standard, ensuring that accuracy and confidentiality is maintained.
