Job summary

Clinical Typists are responsible for all standard typing services in the directorate. Typists will work within directorate-based teams, transcribing dictation using trust-standard equipment and computer systems.

To meet Health and Safety standards, typists will be required to provide other administrative support functions at regular intervals to ensure that adequate rest time away from repetitive typing functions are adhered to.

Main duties of the job

  1. To transcribe dictation using trust-standard equipment and computer systems and undertake other forms of typing as required;
  2. To file completed documentation as agreed;
  3. Post holders will be expected to meet locally agreed health and safety breaks in typing, performing designated tasks as agreed;
  4. To operate IT and other equipment safely and in conformance with local environmental
  5. To maintain confidentiality at all times relating to the patients' staff and the trust;
  6. Assistant in routine office procedures, including the transportation of documentation, photocopying, filing and general clerical work.

We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.
