Job summary

DSFS Ltd are looking to recruit the right candidate into the role of a Porter on a 37.5 hour per week contract, to work within the portering department based at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

The duties include conducting a wide variety of portering tasks, you will be expected to work a shift pattern covering 24 hours a day / 7 days a week including weekends.

Main duties of the job

This position will involve any general portering duties including patient moves, linen transportation, furniture moves, re-cycling and waste collection. The nature of this work requires a significant amount of walking between tasks throughout the shift and there is a physical element to all operations.

Full training will be given for this post, which will initially require covering all 24 hour 7 day shift patterns, attendance of regular refresher training courses is also a mandatory requirement.Good interpersonal skills are required for interacting with patients and basic computer skills are essential for logging all tasks on a central database, for which full training will be given.A full driving license is required for waste collection, for any disabled candidates alternative arrangements may be arranged.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role, this will be obtained by DSFS
