Job summary

If you have been working as a Dietitian with an interest and experience in developing and delivering training programmes and have been involved in dietetic practice placement this exciting new role may be of interest to you.

The post holder will get the opportunity to shape nutrition and hydration training based on the recommendations of the HealthCare Food Standards.

The successful candidate will join our team of 28 staff (dietitians, a nutrition support nurse, assistant dietitian practitioners and an administrative assistant) and will closely with our education team, our current dietetic placement leads and our Practice Placement Facilitator.

The Trust supports remote working and working from home for all team members as appropriate to role and services.

The Trust is committed to improving health and wellbeing of all its staff and we are now fortunate to have an onsite gym.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will take the lead in delivering and developing nutrition and hydration training and for dietetic practice learning.

About us

The successful candidate will become part of our larger friendly, dynamic and forward-thinking team of 27 staff made up of dietitians, a nutrition support nurse, assistant dietitian practitioners, and admin staff.

To support the Trust in meeting the mandatory nutrition and hydration training requirements.

To take the lead, working with the education and nutrition and dietetic teams to develop a Nutrition & Hydration:

- Training gap analysis.

- Training matrix.

- Learning and Development Programme.

- Structured learning framework.

To develop and deliver nutrition and hydration training using a range of teaching methods, programmes and packages to achieve the agree learning priorities and outcomes.

To work alongside other clinical educators to promote and integrated learning environment.

To keep up-to-date and contribute to the development of Trust wide nutrition and hydration education through attending the Inter-Professional Education Group and Nutrition and Hydration Committee as required.

To work in partnership with all members of the education team to ensure effective use of resources and expertise.

Practice Placement

To establish and maintain effective communication within the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating leadership and good working relationships with all levels of staff and learners

To be approachable, visible, flexible and available to meet the needs of learners, preceptees and staff.

To act as a role model, sharing effective practice and learning, promoting a high standard of safe and effective care which is evidence based.

To provide leadership, guidance and support for learning.

To support learners according to their individual learning needs, to ensure they achieve the learning outcome, ensuring a constructive and supportive approach.

To be innovative with teaching methods and learning experiences to enable learners to develop confidence, competence and autonomy in their practice.

To support clinical staff to ensure professional standards relating to supervision and assessment in practice are understood and implemented in practice.

To support supervisors and assessors to implement student programmes, supervision and assessment effectively.

To support the Centre for Practice Learning with learners focused risk assessments and monitoring of reasonable adjustment plans.
