Main duties of the job

We are seeking a talented and motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and interpreting complex healthcare data to support decision-making, identify trends, and drive improvements in patient care and operational performance.

The post-holder will need strong technical skills - you will be required to extract and manipulate data from the data warehouse using SQL and build visualisations and reports using Tableau and SSRS. The post-holder will be a self-motivated individual who has an organised and has a logical approach to work. You will have the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative as well as being an integral part of a busy, established team.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent learning/experience
  • Post graduate qualification or equivalent learning/experience
  • Evidence of continued personal development

Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience working within an Information or analysis role
  • Detailed analysis & validation of various types of data to inform assessment of performance of complex organisations and to help identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience in using statistical & analytical techniques and information analysis, acquired though degree level or equivalent plus additional specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma level / or equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrable experience of developing data visualisations using analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI and SSRS

Desirable

  • Experience of using both quantitative and qualitative data to assess performance of complex organisations
  • Experience with NHS performance management & measurement

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to train others in range of data, measurement and analytical topics
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to identify and consider alternative ways of enabling data to be collected and presented where conventional options are not available
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present highly complex information from large data set
  • Very high level of computer literacy & technical competence including MS Excel, MS Access and SQL
