Job summary

The post holder will be involved in all aspects of day to day directorate based medical staffing workload, and will play a key role in liaison and communication with the directorate management team, medical staff, the Medical Staffing and Education Services department.

Main duties of the job

To work with the Service Manager on the delivery of the directorate based medical staffing workload. This includes working alongside the Medical Staffing Department, Clinical Director and Education Services Department.Day to day duties include; recruitment and selection of medical staff, arranging training, maintaining accurate records, resolving operational problems to ensure there is appropriate cover for wards, clinics and theatre lists and to complete salary returns.

Job responsibilities

General responsibilities:

  1. The post holder will be expected to work within the team to cover hospital core hours in agreement with locally defined rotas
  2. To maintain confidentiality at all times.
  3. To undertake any additional duties which may be determined by the General Manager and Clinical director.
  4. To work in accordance with the aims and objectives of the corporations Customer care strategy at all times.
  5. To actively participate in the Staff Development Review process.
  6. To be familiar and comply with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol police
  7. It is the responsibility of every employee to actively help the Trust prevent and control infection by washing their hands effectively, carrying out their duties in a way which minimises infection, attending appropriate training and maintaining up to date knowledge and skills in infection control and prevention as relevant to their post.
