Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for an Ophthalmology Clinical Administrative Officer within the Head and Neck Care Unit based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
This role is 12 month fixed term.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Administrative Officers are responsible for a range of administrative support services to a group of clinical staff, have expected advanced skills commensurate with their responsibilities, work substantially independently, providing support of the highest quality, and taking leadership in their professional areas.
You will have excellent typing skills and have knowledge of Microsoft packages. You will also possess relevant administrative and clerical experience together with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and computer skills including email, internet and excel. The ability to work to tight deadlines is also an essential requirement of this post.
Knowledge of medical terminology and any office based training such as NVQ are also desirable.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It is home to the Crooked Spire and is also close to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham, thus offering numerous choices for recreational activities and lifestyles.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 550 beds. We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.
