Job summary

37.5hrs per week over 4 days An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small & friendly team at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work as a Receptionist for the Cardiac Physiology Service. The service is based across the Cardiology Suite and the Cardiac Device Suite on A Level at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. You will be an integral member of the Cardiac Physiology team, working autonomously within the reception areas and providing admin support to the Cardiac Physiologists. Candidates should have experience working in a clerical role, possess a professional attitude and be able to work flexibly in a busy environment. You will ideally have experience of working in a hospital reception environment and be familiar with admin processes and practices. You will be required to work as part of a team as well as being able to use your initiative and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines. Good computer skills and qualifications to NVQ Level 2/ RSA2/OCR2 are expected. Main duties of the job

Greet patients attending the department in a professional, friendly and sensitive manner.

Perform general reception duties, book patients in for appointments, Verify patient ID and input data into the electronic database.

Deal with general enquiries, including relaying difficult information relating to waiting times.

Ensure good communications by passing on relevant information to appropriate team members within the department.

Ensure that patient confidentiality is adhered to at all times.

Be professional and show courtesy and sensitivity at all times, Ensure quality standards are maintained.

Be flexible to the needs of the department to ensure reception cover.

Meet departmental KPI's.

Retrieve and process referrals via the departmental electronic systems.

Communicate appointment information to patients and carers, maintaining patient confidentiality.

Assist in creating an environment which is patient focussed, and maintains dignity and privacy.

Receive and action enquiries (verbal and written), promptly and efficiently from a wide range of people, including consultants, senior managers, clinical staff, patients, and external organisations. Uses judgement and analysis to resolve any problems within the parameters of the role, referring complex queries to senior staff, as appropriate.

Organise inpatient appointments arranging porters & liaising with ward staff as necessary.
