20 Hours per week
To meet the requirements of the post, the Linen / Laundry Assistant will be expected to provide a high quality Linen and Laundry service to the wards and departments of the Trust. Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the laundry facilities including all linen storage areas and for providing a laundry service. To monitor the levels of linen on wards and departments. Completing report sheets and feeding information back to Facilities Management on a daily basis.
Main duties of the job
To receive Linen delivered to the Linen room via the external laundering service.
To sort and store Linen appropriately on to ward stillages. This role requires being physically fit and be able to move linen.
To remove items for repair or condemn or alteration. To bag appropriately linen that is not fit for purpose for dispatch to the external laundry.
To bring to the attention of the Facilities management any shortfalls of Linen.
Daily contact with external linen contractor re linen quantities/levels via telephone or via online reporting.
Responsible for maintaining stock levels i.e. ward tape, pillows and disposable linen and inform management when stock is low.
To cover a Bank Holiday service shared out between the team.
