Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dedicated and progressive team.
The department of consists of a 7 bedded cardiology day ward, focusing on both elective out-patient, and in-patient cardiology procedures. These include diagnostic coronary angiograms, pacemaker implants, internal cardiac defibrillators and complex devices (CRT-P/CRT/D).
Training and development at ward level will be fully provided for this post. The department is open Monday to Friday 07:30 to 20:00, this is expected to be long days on a varied shift pattern.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing full holistic care to a range of cardiology patients within the ward environment.
You will work alongside other allied health care professionals including, healthcare support workers, student nurses, qualified nurses, cardiac physiologists, radiology staff and doctors.
The role will involve working within a varied environment, including assisting medical staff in a theatre setting, undergoing sterile cardiac procedures as a first assistant scrub nurse. Working in a 7 bedded recovery bay caring for patients both pre and post procedures, and undertaking nurse led out-patient pre-assessment clinics.
The role will also involve a variety of administrative duties. Full training will be provided to the successful applicant in all aspects of the role. The role will also involve working in an environment where safe exposure to Ionising radiation is required, and the wearing of lead aprons is essential for this role.
