Job summary
The Department of Urology is a dynamic and progressive unit providing care in all the sub-specialities, including urological laparoscopy, interventional stone disease, female and reconstructive urology, and medical and surgical andrology. Radical pelvic surgery for cancer is provided by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. The service is supported by a nurse consultant and a cancer nurse specialist in addition to both UK and overseas trainees. The facilities are located in a bespoke integrated unit which caters for in-patients, out-patients and chemotherapy.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a talented individual to join our urology team. This role will provide opportunity for the applicant to gain clinical experience in the management of urological conditions and in undertaking core urological procedures and access to more specialist procedures like complex ureteric stone surgery working as part of a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team. We will support any candidate who is motivated further their career, including support in obtaining Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in a trust recognised for providing excellent training opportunities and with a proven track record of success in the CESR process.
Our team are proud to provide the treatment of a full spectrum of urological problems, including minimal invasive procedures such as Rezum, bladder cancer treatment and follow up, ureteric stone procedures and selected paediatric procedures.
We do encourage and support our candidate to further their career, by supporting them to sit FRCS exams and article 14 CESR route entry on to the specialist register.
This job is to provide service and training in treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy , stone disease, general and paediatric urology , follow up, and diagnosis of bladder and prostate cancer.
