37.5 hours per week
Ward B5 is a 33-bed unit specializing in the healthcare of older people. We provide compassionate, patient-centred care for patients with complex physical, mental health, and social needs. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. The role of the Ward Clerk is to provide administrative and clerical support to Ward B5, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and effective communication across the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will play a key role in maintaining accurate patient records, coordinating ward communications, and supporting staff to deliver high-quality care to older patients
Main duties of the job
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, both paper-based and electronic.
- Process admissions, discharges, and transfers in line with Trust procedures.
- Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to queries from patients, relatives, and staff.
- Manage ward correspondence, including emails and internal communications.
- Assist in the coordination of patient appointments and investigations.
- Ensure effective communication between ward staff and other departments,
- Maintain stock levels of office and stationery supplies for the ward.
- Support patient flow by liaising with nursing staff and other departments
