Maternity Community Matron

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Maternity Community Matron to join our dedicated team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support the delivery of high-quality, personalised care for women, birthing people, and families within our community maternity services.

As a senior clinical leader, you will provide expert guidance, mentorship, and operational oversight to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care across our community teams. You will work collaboratively with midwives, multidisciplinary colleagues, and local partners to drive service improvements and uphold the highest standards of care.

The role requires flexibility, as you will work across community sites and occasionally attend hospital-based meetings. Strong leadership skills, advanced clinical knowledge, and a commitment to promoting positive experiences for service users are essential.

Main duties of the job

As Maternity Community Matron, you will provide strong clinical leadership and operational oversight to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care for women, birthing people, and families in the community. You will lead and support midwifery teams, promoting best practice and driving improvements in continuity of care, safety, and experience.

Your role will involve coordinating services across community sites, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards. You will act as an expert practitioner, offering guidance and mentorship to colleagues, and fostering a culture of learning, civility, and inclusivity.
