Job summary

This role for a Theatre Data Clerk is an exciting opportunity to see how administration is a key part of the NHS, the role is in the heart of the surgical division in our very busy Theatres Department. This job means you are vital to ensure the clinical staff have all the information they need. It is a great friendly fast-moving department to work in with plenty of opportunities to learn. There are a variety of admin duties from telephone, emails, scanning, data input and running reports in Meditech and Excel. A job share will be considered but flexibility will be needed to cover the service.

Main duties of the job

You will be working alongside a senior support officer on a daily basis to support the clinical staff for each theatre, providing them with the latest information for their daily operation lists, as well as support the Support Manager upon request. The main duties of the role come from emails and telephone calls. You will get updates and changes from nurses, surgeons, anaesthetist, which will mean making changes to operating list on a daily basis. You will run daily/weekly and month reports and eventually be the first point of contact for the Theatre Data Team. You will work with a few software programmes to record data, such as Meditech and Excel. You will work closely with Theatre Reception and the Theatre Coordinator to ensure paper work is upto date. You will also build good working relationships with other surgical departments by both telephone and email, working together to ensure information and data is collected and circulated with a good high standard and accuracy.
