Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated Estates Officer to oversee the management and maintenance of our properties at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. In this vital role, you will manage our in-house teams and external contractors, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and building services are compliant with national standards and guidelines. You will be at the forefront of our operations, from managing day-to-day maintenance and projects to implementing service improvements. This position is a unique opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and leadership skills in a critical environment. You will play a key part in a rotating on-call rota and will be responsible for deputising for senior staff, offering technical advice, and ensuring our facilities are always in top condition to support patient care.
Main duties of the job
Management and Oversight: Managing the day-to-day operations of the in-house maintenance team and external contractors. This includes overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), managing defect works, and new work requests.Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with national standards, legislation, and Trust policies. This includes acting as a technical liaison and potentially undertaking "Authorised Person" roles for critical systems like medical gases and electrical systems.Project Management: Managing and prioritising maintenance projects and minor capital works. This involves liaising with users, contractors, and specialist agencies.Technical and Operational Support: Providing technical advice and training to staff. The role also involves participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota, responding to call-outs
