Job summary
The Endoscopy unit is looking for a motivated and positive band 6 Deputy Sister.
As a Deputy Sister within the Endoscopy unit you will
be responsible for supporting the staff within the unit, and helping to
co-ordinate on a daily basis the running of the unit.
Endoscopy is a fast paced unit where we undertake procedures for both
outpatients and inpatients. We work closely with a range on multidisciplinary
teams to ensure our patients have the best plan of care.
As a deputy sister you will help to provide a high standard of care to all our
patients during what can be an anxious time.
60 hours a week available
Main duties of the job
You will need to be a motivated team orientated professional
with a passion for delivering high standards of nursing care in an ever
changing environment and work within a multi professional team; it is essential
you communicate effectively within this environment and act in line with the
Endoscopy Unit's philosophy. You be will be required to manage the Unit in the
absence of the Ward Manager and be able to communicate effectively to all
levels. Key elements include; strong professional leadership qualities, which
is critical to delivering the high standard of care our trust requires, passion
to be able to motivate and increase staff morale and ability to change so to
manage and encourage a learning environment. Dealing with day to day issues
that may arise such as staff sickness, roster management, mitigation,
complaints, incidents, tendable audits, etc. You will also be expected to
support the ward manager with governance issues, training and incident
management
