Job summary

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Medical Electronics Clinical Engineer to join our Clinical Engineering Department.

You will be part of a successful team providing a full range of medical equipment maintenance activities and clinical / technical support. You should be organised, professional and able to work under pressure and always demonstrate the Trusts values.

We are a busy department providing a Medical Equipment Management Service to the Trust offering a rewarding career opportunity. The role offers the opportunity of working on equipment, which is at the forefront of medical technology, whilst also becoming a member of a dedicated Healthcare Team within a caring environment.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidates will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject

Experience of equipment maintenance of complex electronic equipment is essential. A good understanding of the modern healthcare environment with its developments and challenges would be desirable.

Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or an appropriate subject. Or an equivalent level qualification.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Ability to diagnose faults to component level on a range of medical devices

Knowledge and understanding of engineering laboratory practices and safety concepts
Ability to create, modify and distribute information using preferred software packages
Have an understanding of a wide range of work procedures and practices, the majority of which are non-routine, which require intermediate level of theoretical knowledge normally acquired through formal training or equivalent experience
Have a good understanding of the relevant health and safety issues and procedures.
