Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the team in the Ears, Nose and Throat and Maxillofacial Outpatients Department. The ideal candidates needs be motivated and enthusiastic, possess excellent communication skills, be a team player and wish to consolidate/develop their skills. The ENT & the Maxillofacial OPD are fast-paced departments that sees a variety of patients including direct emergency patients from the Urgent Emergency Care Centre (UECC) and GP referrals. The department also deals with urgent 2ww patients who have the possibility of having a cancer and bad news clinics. Both departments also see paediatric patients, which include a weekly pre- assessment and surgical list for paediatric dental extractions, which takes place in our own specialised unit, the departments also have a daily minor operation lists as well as our own nurse led clinics. If you enjoy working in a fast paced environment and pride yourself on ensuring patients have the best experience then this is the job for you. The successful candidate also needs to demonstrate good time management and organisational skills. Main duties of the job

  • Assist in our Minor operation clinics
  • Occasionally administration of medication
  • Assist in our paediatric pre-assessment and poswillo clinics
  • Occasionally may be expected to take charge
  • Will be expected to work across both ENT and Maxfax OPD
  • Assist in the nurse led clinics
  • Be a positive role model for other staff members including student nurses
  • Work alongside the wider MDT
  • Safeguarding
  • Undertake all mandatory training that is required from the trust
  • Attend governance meetings and the reporting of concerns/datix's
